New prices are being prepared for Ukrainians from May: the next increase

The cost of one of the most essential government services in Ukraine — apostille — has significantly increased. Starting from May 3, 2025, citizens will have to pay a much higher price for the procedure.

Previously, the procedure cost 51 UAH, but now the price has risen to 610 UAH. This was announced by MP Ihor Fris, who added that the last tariff increase occurred back in 2003, and since then, the economic situation and inflation level have changed significantly.

For legal entities, the cost will be even higher — 1060 UAH for the procedure. This decision was made by the Ministry of Justice, which explained that the price increase was necessary to reflect the true costs to the state of providing this service.

The price hike is associated with the need to adequately reflect current economic realities. The previous price could not cover the costs of document processing. Over the more than 20 years, the situation has changed significantly, and the cost of the apostille has risen several times.

Despite the price changes, the procedure itself will remain unchanged. Applications for apostille can be submitted online via the Ministry of Justice’s website or through the nearest Public Service Center (CNA). Ukrainians are advised to plan ahead for the costs of document processing for studying, working, or marrying abroad.

The demand for apostille services is growing as more Ukrainians are leaving the country. According to Polish data, in 2024, Ukrainians purchased 9,160 apartments in Poland, which accounted for more than half of all transactions made by foreigners.

Purchasing property abroad is becoming for many Ukrainians not just a dream but a real step towards long-term residence and integration. The presence of an apostille is a mandatory requirement for processing documents for housing, temporary residence permits, and other legal matters abroad.

Despite the numerous challenges Ukraine has faced since 2014 due to Russia’s aggression, the country continues to develop, ensuring citizens’ access to vital government services.
