In Pokrovsk, a law enforcement officer was involved in the sale of captured weapons — the sales channel was discovered

Law enforcement officers have uncovered a channel for the illegal sale of captured weapons in the Donetsk region. The State Bureau of Investigation, with the support of the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police, conducted an operation against a police officer from Pokrovsk and his comrade, who are suspected of selling weapons without the necessary permits.

According to information, the detainees bought mainly Soviet-captured weapons and put them up for sale online. One of them was engaged in the delivery of goods. The price of the weapons ranged from 50,000 to 120,000 hryvnias.

During searches of their homes and cars, law enforcement officers found an assault rifle, a pistol, five hand grenades, eight magazines for automatic weapons, and about two thousand rounds of ammunition of various calibers. It is worth noting that no relevant documents were found for any of the guns.

The detainees are suspected of illegal acquisition, storage, and sale of weapons without a permit, which is a crime committed by a group of persons (Part 2 of Article 28 Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The court imposed preventive measures for them: for the police officer, this is detention in custody with the possibility of posting bail for 908,000 hryvnias, and for the civilian, an alternative bail of 450,000 hryvnias.

The perpetrators may face up to 7 years in prison. Investigators are continuing to investigate the possible involvement of other persons in this criminal activity.
