A poetry evening “Read with your heart” was held in Kyiv to support the artillerymen
A charity poetry evening titled “Read with your heart” was held at the Sapians Music Bar in Kyiv, initiated by the Knygolab publishing house. All funds raised were directed to support the artillery reconnaissance of one of the brigades of the Ukrainian National Guard.
The event featured a raffle of special books, including works by Iryna Tyshkevych, Dmytro Kuleba, the “Women Write” series, and the new “Diplomatic Kitchen.”
The evening’s media partners were the radio stations “Pyatnytsia” and “Champion,” as well as the online resources SK Life, TK, Muzvar, Insider, and the M1 TV channel. TV presenters, actors, musicians, and bloggers took part in the program.
Among the participants of the evening was Oleksiy Sukhanov, who noted in a comment to SK Life:
“This event raises funds, and if I can be a part of it, I have to be here. The power of the Ukrainian word is significant.”
Actress Anastasia Tsymbalaru shared her poetic reflections:
“My poems tell about love, but through the prism of today’s realities. It’s about a woman saying goodbye to her lover, about a soldier writing to his soulmate. The third poem is an appeal to God. We ask: what is all this for? The only thing we can do is ask for the strength to go through everything with dignity.”
Olena Svitlitska shared how literature helped her in difficult times:
“Edith Eger’s book “Choice” is a compelling work about survival and inner strength. Now we all have a choice how to live, even in the face of personal challenges.”
Maria Kondratenko noted that literature does not always directly influence music, but it shapes the worldview:
“Recently, I was inspired by Rupi Kaur’s poems. They expand my vocabulary and help me formulate my thoughts. The book that made an impression on me is “God Always Travels Incognito” by Laurent Gunnel.”
Oleksiy Komarovsky noted that this evening, he read poems in public for the first time in three years, and it caused him special emotions:
“I chose three poems that are like monologues. These are powerful texts. I believe that people need good stories now. My latest film is a children’s fantasy, “Khreschatyk 48 fraction two”, which answers this question.”
Singer Marta Adamchuk created a unique atmosphere for the evening:
“I simply live every moment. If my song resonates with people, it means it is real.”
The evening “Read with your heart” once again demonstrated that poetry is not only a form but also an action. Words can be a tool for charity, unity, inspiration, and support in the most challenging situations.
It is also worth noting that on Kyiv Day, one of the initiatives in the parking lot of the Blockbuster Mall was the second annual “Kvitkova Training” – a sports and charity event organized by the famous influencer Dasha Kvitkova.
