The owner of “Galera” will be accused of illegally seizing land in Kyiv
The case of the owner of the Galera restaurant in Kyiv has been sent to court for illegal construction on the banks of the Dnieper. The prosecutor’s office discovered that the businessman had forged documents to obtain the right to use the land plot.
The Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office reported the completion of the investigation and the transfer of the indictment to the court against the entrepreneur who built the Galera restaurant complex on an illegally occupied plot near the Dnieper.
The Holosiivskyi District Prosecutor’s Office established that the entrepreneur, without the necessary construction permits, equipped the establishment on a territory of 0.5636 hectares within the protective strip of the Galera Bay in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv.
To legally register the use of this land, the suspect forged documents that allegedly certified the existence of a legal relationship with another person and filed a claim with the court to register his ownership of the constructed facility.
After receiving a favorable court decision, the man contributed the restaurant complex to the company’s authorized capital, which effectively legalized his illegal activities and granted him the right to use the land plot belonging to the Kyiv territorial community.
Currently, the indictment is under consideration in court.
It should be noted that in May 2025, the Northern Appeal Economic Court partially satisfied the claim of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office, obliging the commercial structure to demolish the illegally built complex and return the land to the territorial community. At the same time, journalists drew attention to the fact that the restaurant continues its activities, and the employees remain at their workplaces.
Despite numerous violations and a court decision to demolish it, the Galera restaurant complex in Kyiv is preparing for the summer season.
