Ціни в Україні почнуть знижувати темпи зростання: НБУ озвучив оптимістичний прогноз

Prices in Ukraine will begin to slow down: NBU voiced an optimistic forecast

In Ukraine, inflation in April 2025 exceeded 15%, in line with the National Bank of Ukraine’s forecasts. However, a gradual decrease in inflationary pressure is expected over time.

Member of the NBU Council Vasyl Furman reported on “Ranok.LIVE” that the decline in prices will begin to manifest itself shortly.

The high inflation rate in the first half of 2025 is primarily attributed to the negative impact of the war, specifically the shelling of critical infrastructure, as well as other economic challenges.

According to the expert, the accelerated growth in inflation is also due to labor shortages, an increase in average salaries, and low harvests in 2024.

“The average wage increased by 23% last year. Low harvests last year and high prices affected agricultural products, so the effects of high prices are gradually being exhausted,” Furman emphasized.

The National Bank predicts that a steady decline in inflation will begin in June of this year, with the expectation that annual inflation will decrease to 8.7% by the end of 2025. The regulator hopes that a return to the target of 5% yearly inflation will occur in 2026-2027.

Earlier, it was reported about the impact of weather changes on prices, as well as experts’ forecasts for further price increases. The National Bank also announced the withdrawal of part of the hryvnia from circulation.
