Forecasts for the dollar and euro exchange rate in June from a banker
In June, fluctuations in the Ukrainian foreign exchange market are expected, although they are likely to remain within the predicted indicators set by the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
This point of view was expressed by Taras Lesovy, Director of the Financial Markets Department at Globus Bank, during an interview.
Analyzing the situation on the foreign exchange market, the banker noted that one of the key factors affecting the exchange rate will remain the NBU’s policy. The regulator continues to maintain the exchange rate in a mode of managed flexibility, which allows it to control market conditions, conduct currency interventions, and prevent sharp fluctuations in the dollar’s exchange rate.
Additionally, international financial assistance to Ukraine plays a crucial role in shaping the national currency exchange rate. It is expected that in 2025, the country will receive more than $55 billion, of which over $38 billion will be allocated to cover the budget deficit. “Such resources will ensure stability and will not allow the hryvnia to weaken significantly,” Taras Lesovy emphasized.
According to him, the dollar can fluctuate within 41.6-42 hryvnias, while the average annual rate specified in the state budget is 45 hryvnias. Such a slight increase seems quite justified. The euro exchange rate in June is forecasted to be in the range of 45.5-47 hryvnias, which will depend, to a greater extent, on global dynamics in the euro-dollar pair.
