The former head of a department in the Logistics Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is suspected of illicit enrichment and improper handling of weapons.
The Prosecutor General’s Office reported this.
The investigation established that the serviceman, in collusion with other individuals, acquired a substantial amount of assets that do not correspond to his official income, including land plots, apartments, houses, and cars. The total value of his property exceeds official income by more than 12.4 million hryvnias.
In addition, according to the investigation, the suspect illegally stored firearms and ammunition without the necessary permits.
Suspicions were raised in connection with the violation of Articles 368-5 (illicit enrichment) and 263 (illegal handling of weapons) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Currently, the issue of choosing a preventive measure is being resolved.
The State Bureau of Investigation is conducting the pre-trial investigation.
As a reminder, on April 29, 2025, the National Police reported the exposure of a large corruption scheme in the field of public procurement for the needs of the Ukrainian military. According to law enforcement officials, eight individuals, including heads of housing and operational departments, employees, and entrepreneurs, were suspected of embezzling more than 90 million hryvnias of public funds.
