Will be able to retire 10 years earlier: Ukrainians are given the opportunity to end their working life early
Citizens who participated in hostilities in Ukraine are eligible to apply for an early pension. However, certain conditions must be met for this, including having the appropriate length of service and reaching the established minimum age.
According to information, women who have the status of a participant in hostilities can retire at 50 years old if their length of service is at least 20 years. As for men, they must be at least 55 years old, with similar requirements for length of service. These rules are defined in the legislation on mandatory state pension insurance.
It is also important to note that for military personnel who directly participated in hostilities, an increased coefficient is applied when calculating the length of service. Each month of service on the front line is counted as three months of length of service, without restrictions on duration.
To apply for an early pension, you must submit several documents:
- Passport of a citizen of Ukraine;
- Taxpayer registration card registration number (RNOKPP);
- Workbook or documents confirming the existence of insurance experience;
- Certificate of participation in hostilities;
- Certificate of participation in hostilities (UBD).
Additionally, it is worth noting that Ukrainians have the right to receive a pension, even if they have never been employed in the formal labor market. In this case, the pension amount will be determined as the difference between the subsistence minimum for people with disabilities and the average monthly family income for the preceding six months. According to preliminary data, in 2025, the subsistence minimum will be 2361 hryvnia.
