Дрони для фронту та Європи: Renault планує виробництво в Україні

Drones for the front and Europe: Renault plans production in Ukraine

The French company Renault plans to launch drone production in Ukraine in partnership with defense enterprises, which could be a significant step in strengthening the European defense industry.

According to the publication FranceinfoFranceinfo, Renault is considering this initiative, which may involve cooperation with small and medium-sized French companies in the defense technology sector. The production facilities are planned to be located several dozen or hundreds of kilometers from the front line.

The company’s press release confirmed that the Ukrainian government has already made a corresponding initiative. However, Renault representatives noted that the decision has not yet been made at this time.

This potential cooperation is already recognized as a significant step, which could become a symbol of a new stage in the development of the European defense sector. It is also a response to the need for rearming military forces in the context of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

By 2025, the Ukrainian army plans to develop and deploy more than four million drones equipped with the latest technologies, demonstrating high combat capabilities. Some of these devices, produced in Ukraine, can also be used by the French military, which is currently significantly lagging in this technology.

French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu expressed the opinion that it will not be necessary to involve French specialists in implementing the project, as Ukrainian developers are capable of creating effective drones and conceptualizing their use.

Ukraine is also working on new methods of combating enemy drone technology, in particular by identifying mobile phone users, which was discussed at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada subcommittee. The French company Renault plans to launch drone production in Ukraine in partnership with defense enterprises, which could be a significant step in strengthening the European defense industry.
