Attack on Ukrainian in Germany: Man stabbed in park because of nationality

A serious incident has occurred in Berlin, the capital of Germany: a 51-year-old Ukrainian man was stabbed while walking his dog in a park. The attack happened on June 14 in the Charlottenburg-Nord district at approximately 6:40 a.m. Two strangers noticed the man when they heard him speaking Ukrainian and asked him about his nationality. After he replied that he was Ukrainian, one of the attackers stabbed him in the stomach.

The victim was quickly hospitalized with serious injuries, but according to police, his life was not in danger. The attackers fled the scene in the direction of Heckerdamm Street, and law enforcement is currently investigating.

Police officials noted that the attack was committed because of the victim’s nationality. During the attack, the man had no opportunity to defend himself, as the attackers acted suddenly. Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward to assist with the investigation.

In addition, Germany is currently developing strategies for a possible armed conflict with Russia, including plans to expand its network of bomb shelters and other defensive structures.
