Pensioners will be given a 40% pension supplement: who is entitled to receive it?
The state is introducing additional financial assistance for single pensioners who need financial support due to health problems. This category receives a special monthly allowance, which is 40% of the minimum pension.
This initiative is enshrined in Law No. 646-IX, “On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on Increasing Social Guarantees for Certain Categories of Persons.”
Who is entitled to the allowance?
According to this law, single pensioners who need constant care are entitled to the supplement. The amount of such an allowance is defined as 40% of the subsistence minimum for persons who have lost their ability to work. Today, the minimum pension is UAH 2,361. Therefore, the monthly allowance in 2025 will be UAH 944.
Conditions for the appointment of payment
To receive this allowance, the following conditions must be met:
- the person must live alone;
- the pension must be issued by age;
- the applicant’s age is 80 years and older;
- according to medical reports, there is a need for regular care;
- the person does not receive a pension due to disability.
How to issue a payment
To issue this payment, you must contact a medical institution to undergo a medical advisory commission, which will issue a conclusion on the need for constant care. With this conclusion, you must contact the local branch of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
Required documents:
- passport of a citizen of Ukraine;
- identification code (TIN);
- conclusion of the Medical Advisory Commission;
- certificate from the Pension Fund that no other care allowance has been assigned.
