Лувр запроваджує додаткову плату за доступ до ''Мони Лізи''

Louvre introduces additional fee for access to ”Mona Lisa”

The Louvre is planning changes to its admission rules. To view Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, visitors will need two tickets: one to enter the museum and another to access the painting. These innovations will come into effect from the beginning of 2025. The artwork will be exhibited separately in the Louvre’s Quadrangle.

Museum director Laurence de Car said the new approach will allow visitors to avoid crowds and fully enjoy the Mona Lisa. According to her, a ticket to the Louvre provides access to the permanent collections and exhibitions, but a separate entrance will be required to view the Mona Lisa.

A separate entrance is not planned just for viewing the painting. The museum hopes that the desire to visit the Mona Lisa will encourage guests to explore other rooms and exhibitions.

According to information from the museum’s management, this decision is aimed at preserving the unique atmosphere surrounding the painting and enhancing the overall experience of visiting the museum.
