“I won’t forgive, but I can strike”: how a fighter with the call sign Johnson destroys the enemy as part of the 420th Battalion

In the 420th separate battalion of unmanned systems, known as “HORT,” there is a soldier named Dmitry who bears a striking resemblance to the former Prime Minister of Great Britain, Boris Johnson. This nickname originated from his external features, but over time, it became a symbol of his character: accuracy, determination, and wit.

Although he is listed as Dmitry in the documents, his nickname has become so well-established that it has become part of the battalion’s history. His activities are not related to politics: the soldier controls FPV drones that strike enemy positions on the front line on a daily basis. The primary motivation is the desire for revenge for the destruction of Ukrainian cities, such as Bucha, Irpin, and Gostomel.

“I can’t forgive. But I can hit,” says Dmitry.

This soldier began his journey in defense of the country from the first days of the full-scale war, first serving in the Kyiv Territorial Defense, where he defended the capital, and now serving in one of the most innovative units on the front.

The battalion notes that “Johnson” is one of those who does not give in to difficulties. He knows how to laugh even under challenging conditions, works when others refuse, and strikes at the most critical moments.

About the 420th Separate Unmanned Systems Battalion “KHORT”

The 420th OBBpS “KHORT” is a specialized unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine responsible for operating uncrewed aerial vehicles. It was formed based on the Technical Reconnaissance Detachment, which was established in March 2023. The fighters of this battalion participated in battles in the most intense areas, such as Avdiivka, Kupyansk, and Serebryanske Forestry.

The unit was officially established on April 23, 2024, and has been actively conducting combat missions since then, consistently demonstrating a high level of skill and professionalism.
