Do not succumb: gas consumers have been given an important warning

All Ukrainians have the right to receive a gas meter free of charge. However, not everyone is aware of the possibility of compensation for meters that have been purchased and installed by themselves.

According to the information provided by the Gas Pravda portal, users who have officially connected to gas are entitled to install gas meters for free. Installation can only occur after the consumer receives the EIS code, a 16-digit ID, which facilitates accounting and transmission.

However, it is essential to note that only the operator of the “gas distribution networks of Ukraine” is authorized to install meters at no cost. If you decide to install the meter yourself, then the cost of buying and installing it is your responsibility, and no compensation is provided for it.

So you have a choice: speed or savings. To save money, consider contacting the operator for free installation.

However, due to hostilities, the process of installing meters has been delayed, and in many regions, the obligations are not entirely fulfilled. The installation is still ongoing, though not as fast as they would like.

It should also be noted that gas consumers cannot refuse to install the meter. In the case of apartment buildings, all co-owners are required to install a joint gas meter.

According to earlier information, Ukrainians are required to return utilities; it is essential to check all receipts.

It was also reported that the money would be received, but they would not be able to withdraw it: the rules of compensation under the Equation program are specified.
