Pension is no longer available to everyone: who will be denied at 60?

From 2025, retirement for women in Ukraine will not depend only on reaching the age of 60 – now it is important to have the necessary insurance experience.

Despite the fact that the retirement age has remained unchanged, the requirements have become stricter. To receive a pension, you must have at least 32 years of insurance experience. At the same time, if you have experience from 22 to 32 years, you can apply for a pension from the age of 63. If you have less than 22 years of experience (but more than 15), this will allow you to retire only from the age of 65.

Do not forget that there are special conditions for women who have raised five or more children. Such women can retire at the age of 50 with at least 15 years of experience. This also applies to those who have cared for a disabled child under the age of six.

Additionally, the time spent on maternity leave is counted towards the insurance experience. For example, a woman with 29 years of work and 3 years of maternity leave will be able to retire at 60, since her total length of service will be 32 years.

Despite the increased requirements, the new system takes into account important life circumstances, taking into account the possibility of relaxing some rules.

The state continues to work on reforms of social programs, including in wartime, to make support for citizens more fair and effective. It is important to stay active and support each other in these difficult times.
