In Kyiv, strong winds are tearing off cladding elements from buildings: a threat to people and transport

Severe weather continues in Kyiv, bringing strong winds for the second day. As a result, cladding elements are falling from an unfinished residential complex, which creates dangerous conditions for residents of the capital.

During strong winds, pieces of material fall from the unfinished building, which poses a threat to pedestrians and cars on the streets.

According to the Glavkom publication, this is the Patriotika residential complex located in Osokorki, although this information has not yet been officially confirmed.

According to the forecast of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, on July 30, clouds with clearings, heavy rains, and thunderstorms are expected in the capital and the region. The wind will be northwest at a speed of 7-12 m/s.

Hydrometeorologists warn of a yellow level of danger, noting that such weather can complicate the activities of utility, energy, and construction services, as well as traffic.

The State Emergency Service of Kyiv Region appeals to citizens to be careful due to the deterioration of weather conditions, which may cause difficulties in traffic and the work of services. Residents are warned about possible dangerous situations on the streets.

By the way, on July 22, an incident occurred in Kyiv due to bad weather, when a construction crane fell on the territory of the Mirax residential complex. It should be noted that the State Emergency Service has not received any reports regarding this case. Officially, construction at this facility has been suspended since the fall of 2024, but in reality, no work is being carried out there. This is the second incident of this kind at this site in a year.
