In Khmelnytskyi region, three deputies were suspected of failing to declare millions in assets
Deputies of the city councils of Kamianets-Podilskyi, Slavutych, and Shepetivskyi districts were suspected of entering false information into their declarations of property and assets. The total value of these assets exceeds 25 million hryvnias. By Part 1 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, they were suspected of declaring false information.
This information was published in the press service of the National Police. The facts of the violation were revealed by operatives of the Strategic Investigations Department in the Khmelnytskyi region, and the investigation is under the control of the prosecutor’s office.
Specifically, the deputy of the Kamianets-Podilskyi city council did not indicate assets worth more than 5.6 million hryvnias in 2021 and another 3.5 million in 2022. Among the undeclared property were an ultralight aircraft, real estate, and land plots.
The deputy of the Slavutysk City Council did not indicate non-residential premises and two million hryvnias of financial assistance appropriated by his relative’s enterprise in his declaration for 2023. The amount of undeclared property is approximately 7 million hryvnias.
The deputy of the Shepetiv City Council, according to the results of the investigation, did not indicate in the declarations for 2022 and 2023 more than 9.2 million hryvnias in the form of cash, bank accounts, and corporate rights, including 3.8 million hryvnias in money.
After collecting evidence, suspicions were raised against all three deputies. According to the article’s sanction, a fine, restriction, or imprisonment with a ban on holding certain positions is possible.
