Tetyana Berezhna will head the Ministry of Culture: new directions in the cultural policy of Ukraine

Tetyana Berezhna, who previously worked at the Ministry of Economy, has been appointed Acting Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications. The new head’s main task will be to support Ukrainian culture during the war and find new financial resources for cultural initiatives.

According to the Ukrainian government’s decision, Tetyana Berezhna will oversee stability and financial capacity within the ministry, which is transforming the face of military challenges. The authorities have instructed the new head to maintain the ministry’s management functions and actively seek new opportunities to support Ukrainian culture. Yulia Svyrydenko reported this on her Facebook page.

Her responsibilities include conducting an audit of the needs of the cultural sector and actively communicating with donors and international partners. Berezhna already has experience at the Ministry of Economy, where she was involved in reforming labor legislation, integrating veterans into the labor market, and creating new jobs. Now her priority is to ensure adequate funding for Ukrainian culture and to intensify cooperation with international partners.

“We are counting on the coordinated work of the ministry team, which includes professionals led by Halyna Hryhorenko and Anastasia Bondar,” said Yulia Svyrydenko, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a unified team for the effective implementation of the tasks set.

Tetyana Berezhna, originally from Rohatyn, was born on January 9, 1989. She received a law degree from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in law. Her career includes an internship in the Parliament of Canada and studies at leading educational institutions, such as the London School of Economics and Political Science.

In addition, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced essential personnel changes, attracting new deputies with experience in the military sphere and the implementation of digital technologies.
