Drones attacked Lisky station in Voronezh – train traffic was stopped and fires broke out

On the night of August 17, an attack on one of the largest stations of the South-Eastern Railway took place in the city of Lisky, Voronezh region of Russia. According to local media and government officials, drones hit the infrastructure, damaging a power line. This led to delays in the movement of passenger and freight trains.

A track worker was injured in the incident. Emergency and repair crews are already working at the scene. The governor of the region, Alexander Gusev, urged residents to be cautious, avoid dangerous areas, and stay away from windows during air raids.

Several fires were reported in the same area, including one in a store and another in a market area. Additionally, a fire was reported in a gas pipe in another city, which local firefighters extinguished.

Residents of Borisoglebsk and Ostrogozhsk also reported hearing explosions, with some sighting drones in the sky, followed by several series of explosions.

Three communities in the region have been warned of the threat of repeated drone attacks, and the area has been placed on a drone alert. Air defense systems were activated in the Voronezh region overnight, and the air alert remained in effect for several hours.

Official figures on the extent of damage have not yet been released. Still, eyewitnesses and local authorities indicate that the night in the region was tense due to a series of explosions and the work of air defense.
