Women with medical education must undergo military service after graduation: what are the innovations in the rules of military registration

In the Kirovohrad region, new rules are being introduced for women with medical and pharmaceutical education regarding military registration. From now on, their information will be automatically entered into the Unified State Register of Conscripts.

As noted by Kateryna Hevel, the acting head of the communication group of the regional CCC and SP, educational institutions are obligated to transfer lists of graduates by place of residence to the territorial recruitment centers within one week after graduation.

“Information from educational institutions will be entered into the register without the need for a personal application,” the representative of the CCC added.

Invariably, women are required to personally appear at the CCC within 60 days after completing their studies to undergo a military medical commission (MMC). Failure to fulfill this obligation is subject to administrative punishment in the form of a fine of 17 to 25.5 thousand hryvnias.

Hevel also emphasized that mobilization for women is not currently underway, so there are no restrictions on traveling abroad, even for those who are registered. She noted that there have been no cases of women evading military service in the region.

Ukraine is under martial law and general mobilization, which is set to expire on November 5, 2025. Passing the VLK remains a key element in the mobilization process; however, the legislation defines specific cases when such an approach is mandatory and when it is inappropriate.
