An unsuccessful attempt by the Russians to break through to the Dnipropetrovsk region

In eastern Ukraine, an unsuccessful attempt was made to break through the defense, resulting in the capture of 16 invaders, including propagandists with “tricolors”.

In a joint operation of units of the Russian Volunteer Corps and the “Brotherhood” formation, together with fighters of the 5th separate heavy mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which took place in the Donetsk region, it was possible to thwart another attempt by the Russian military to advance towards the Dnipropetrovsk region. The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine confirmed information about the operation.

During the fighting, the Russian service members were repulsed by fighters of the Volunteer Corps, as a result of which 16 invaders were captured. Among those detained were “standard bearers” who intended to shoot staged materials about the alleged capture of Ukrainian settlements, in particular the village of Andriyivka-Klevtsove.

Active infantry assaults, coordinated work of tank units, and precise strikes by drones accompanied the operation. Videos showing the capture of Russian prisoners of war were also released.

The department emphasized that any appearance of Russian military personnel with weapons and “tricolors” on the territory of Ukraine leads to inevitable consequences – their destruction.

In Novorossiysk Bay, a naval drone of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine destroyed five elite reconnaissance divers of the Russian fleet.

On the night of August 17, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched an attack on a column of Russian invaders moving between Rylsk and Khomutovka in the Kursk region. As a result of the strike, Lieutenant General Esedulla Abachev, who is the deputy commander of the “Sever” group, was seriously wounded.
