Free utility services for pensioners: who is entitled to a full benefit and how to apply for it

In Ukraine, there are little-known benefits available to pensioners that can help them reduce their expenses on utilities such as gas, electricity, water, and solid fuel.

The main thing is to have the appropriate document and follow a few simple requirements.

According to the Pension Fund, some categories of pensioners can apply for a 100% subsidy for utility services. This means that after reaching the age of 60, you can legally forget about paying utility bills.

And who can take advantage of this opportunity? Benefits are provided to pensioners who live in villages and worked in such “socially significant” professions as teachers, doctors, pharmacists, agronomists, as well as employees of cultural institutions (museums, theaters, libraries). It is essential to remain living in the village and have at least three years of experience in the relevant profession at the time of retirement.

Another essential condition is that the average income per family member should not exceed 4240 hryvnias. If your pension does not exceed this amount, you can count on the specified benefit.

How to take advantage of this opportunity? It is pretty simple: you need to contact the local branch of the Pension Fund, write an application for a benefit, submit documents confirming residence in the village, as well as a certificate from the place of work.

Do not forget that other benefits and payments from the state may be available to different categories of citizens.

It was previously reported that some pensioners may receive payments of 200 hryvnias, but these changes have elicited a mixed reaction among the public.
