Summer months will last for half a year, and a new desert will appear in Ukraine: an alarming forecast for the future

Climatologist Svitlana Krakovska noted that by the middle of the 21st century, summer months in Ukraine could last up to 180 days annually. She also pointed to the possibility of desert areas forming in the south of the country as a result of changing climatic conditions. The expert confirmed this information during an interview on the YouTube channel “Speaks Sukhanov”.

According to the scientist, these changes will not only affect the duration of the summer season, but also the temperature and precipitation patterns. Still, they will also lead to an increase in the average air temperature in the southern regions to 28-30°C by 2050. Such heat poses serious environmental threats, particularly the risk of new desert formation in the Odessa region.

Krakovska also emphasized that the scale of all these changes depends on humanity’s efforts in the field of energy and the control of greenhouse gas emissions.

Global warming is already causing weather anomalies and contributing to rising food prices worldwide. Future temperature fluctuations and extreme heat may become a common occurrence, which will undoubtedly affect the economy and the quality of life of people.

Forecasters also predict that the temperature in the fall will be mild, with frequent rains.
