Among the ordinary coins that can be found in your pocket or piggy bank, there are also real treasures. Some 25 kopecks of the Ukrainian issue of 1992 are especially valued, which have become very popular among collectors.

According to experts from the resource “Moneti-yagidki”, individual copies of these coins can be worth tens of thousands of hryvnias.

As for the 25 kopecks, the most valuable is the 1992 coin with the index 3ГАм. You can recognize it by two criteria:

A thick central tooth of the trident.

The absence of cuttings in clusters under numbers 4 and 8.

Collectors are willing to pay up to 20,000 hryvnias for coins with such characteristics.

Reasons for rarity

Experts explain that the first 25 kopecks were produced at the Luhansk Machine-Building Plant, and some of them became trial coins, not getting into wide circulation, which makes them very rare.

It is estimated that valuable specimens are found only once in 30,000 ordinary coins or even less.

Experts recommend that Ukrainians check their old coins at home. In your piggy banks or among forgotten small change, there may be a coin for which collectors will pay significant amounts.
