Not all men under 22 are allowed to travel abroad: new clarifications

Ukraine has made essential changes to the legislation regarding the departure of men from the country during martial law. Now, Ukrainians aged 18 to 22 can leave the country without any obstacles.

This information was confirmed by the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers, Taras Melnychuk, noting that the new rules do not apply to high-ranking officials, such as prime ministers, ministers, and heads of central government bodies.

Earlier, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced that the government had agreed on the innovation with the military command. The rules will come into force the day after the official publication of the relevant decision.

President Volodymyr Zelensky also expressed support for the initiative to simplify the exit procedure for young Ukrainians. The parliament is currently preparing a bill that expands the possibilities of leaving for conscripts and those liable for military service up to 25 years of age.

According to information from MP Fedor Venislavsky, the new document clearly states that the restrictions will not apply to persons who have not reached the draft age at the time of mobilization, and also provides additional clarifications for the military.

Thus, young Ukrainians under the age of 22 have received much easier access to crossing the border. Nevertheless, it is essential to pay attention to the details of the new resolution to avoid unpleasant situations at the border.
