Payments to military personnel during treatment: who can receive assistance and in what amount
Military personnel who have been injured or ill receive financial support during treatment.
The state provides payments even to those who are undergoing rehabilitation or on leave for recovery. This is especially important for those who have decided to defend Ukraine since the beginning of Russia’s aggression.
Cash benefits continue to be accrued during inpatient treatment, as well as during leave in case of illness or treatment after injury. However, there are certain restrictions on payments.
During the first four months of treatment, military personnel receive payments in the amount corresponding to their last position. If the treatment lasts longer, the decision on further payments is made by the army medical commission. They are obliged to provide a corresponding conclusion no later than four months from the start of treatment.
If treatment continues, financing is regulated by the order of the commander of the military unit. It is essential to note that the state has limited the maximum period for receiving cash benefits during treatment to 12 consecutive months.
“The maximum period of stay in medical institutions or on leave for treatment with preservation of financial support cannot exceed 12 months,” the relevant document emphasizes.
