The singer of the hit Gangnam Style has legal difficulties

Seoul police have launched an investigation into South Korean rapper Psy, whose real name is Park Chae-sang. He gained worldwide fame thanks to his hit Gangnam Style. The artist is suspected of violating health laws.

According to information received from the Yonhap agency, since 2022, Psy has been receiving prescriptions for the psychotropic drugs Xanax and Zolpidem, using the services of his representatives, including his manager. At the same time, the artist did not visit a doctor in person.

In connection with the allegations, law enforcement officers searched a medical facility and confiscated relevant documentation. Psy’s doctor assures that he did not violate the law and that the artist’s treatment was carried out remotely.

P Nation, the agency that founded Psy, confirmed that the singer has chronic sleep problems and that he takes sleeping pills for medical reasons. Agency representatives also noted that Psy did not issue prescriptions through intermediaries, but acknowledged that in some cases, other people received medication on his behalf.
