Former US President Joe Biden recently underwent a Mohs procedure to remove cancerous skin lesions.

His representative reported this information. It was also not specified when the operation took place. The information appeared after a video appeared on the Internet, which shows a scar on the forehead of the 82-year-old politician.

The Mohs method involves the gradual removal of thin layers of skin, followed by microscopic analysis of the tissues. Doctors continue the procedure until they find cancer cells. This method is usually used in cases where the lesion returns after treatment or is located in sensitive areas, such as the face or hands.

Last year, Biden had a lesion on his chest removed, which turned out to be basal cell carcinoma – the most common type of skin cancer. The president’s doctor at the time reported that all the affected tissue was successfully removed, and Biden is under constant supervision by a dermatologist.

In addition, in May of this year, Biden was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer with bone metastases. The politician noted that he had started a course of tablet therapy and expressed optimism about his condition.

“We can overcome this. My bones are strong, the cancer has not penetrated my organs, so I feel good,” Biden commented.
