Ukraine has updated military registration requirements for 25-year-olds: what you need to know CCC

New rules governing the operation of territorial recruitment centers have taken effect in Ukraine, affecting men who have reached the age of 25. Lawyer Dariya Tarasenko reported this on her Facebook page.

According to the updated rules, individuals are considered “conscripts” until the age of 25, and after reaching this age, they automatically transition into the category of “military conscripts.” Previously, it was common practice for young men to personally visit territorial recruitment centers, undergo a military medical examination, and receive a military ID or certificate.

At the same time, from July 31, 2025, in accordance with the changes to the Regulations on the Activities of the TCK, recruitment centers are now obliged to make changes to the Unified State Register within 30 days after the citizen’s birthday, remove the person from the register of conscripts and transfer him to the category of military conscripts, with the assignment of the title of “reserve soldier (sailor)”.

This means that men no longer need to visit the TCC in person to renew their status, except when they receive a summons, in which case attendance remains mandatory.

During mobilization in Ukraine, the primary focus is on men aged 25 to 60, including those who have previously received various deferments. However, young men aged 18-25 with no prior military experience are currently exempt from conscription and can sign a contract with the Armed Forces at their discretion. Additionally, the government has permitted military personnel over 60 to continue their service.
