A Lviv resident tried to bribe a border guard at the border with Slovakia – 100 thousand hryvnias
An incident occurred at the “Maly Berezny – Ublya” checkpoint, which may result in criminal liability for the individual.
The Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that an indictment has been sent to court against a 33-year-old man from Lviv. According to the investigation, on September 12, at the border with Slovakia, he tried to leave using a fake passport of a citizen of Saudi Arabia.
His attempt was exposed by border guards who did not allow him to cross the border. After that, the man decided to offer a bribe to one of the border guards, promising to transfer 100 thousand hryvnias to a bank card.
The man is charged with several offenses, including aiding and abetting the forgery and use of false documents, as well as offering a bribe to an official. He is arrested under Articles 358, Parts 3 and 4, and Article 369, Part 1, of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The case was sent for consideration to the Velykobereznyanskyi District Court. The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Uzhhorod District Police Department No. 2 with the support of the local prosecutor’s office.
Recently, in the Ternopil region, law enforcement officers detained the head of a non-staff military medical commission on suspicion of bribery related to entering false data into medical documents; he was also charged under Part 4 of Article 368-4 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
