It is important to make it to the end of September: Ukrainians face temporary suspension of aid

All persons receiving state social benefits and scholarships must undergo identification by October 1, 2025. Otherwise, their payments may be suspended, as the Pension Fund of Ukraine reminds.

Since July 2025, the Pension Fund of Ukraine has been the sole body responsible for paying 39 types of state social benefits and scholarships. Therefore, it is essential to complete the identification procedure by the deadline if you are applying for one of these payments.

Identification can be carried out at PFU service centers, during video consultations, through a personal electronic account using “Actions. Signature”, or at consular institutions abroad. To conduct video identification, you must apply through the web portal or the PFU Contact Center. Afterward, a specialist will contact the applicant to agree on the time of the online procedure.

This procedure is mandatory for:

All recipients of state social benefits and scholarships that are transferred to the PFU administration;

Persons submitting new applications after July 1, 2025, must provide identification as part of the document process.

Within 30 calendar days, but no earlier than 10 business days after applying, a PFU employee will contact the applicant to agree on the time of identification. During online communication, a specialist checks the documentation and confirms the identity of the recipient.

Identification in the Pension Fund of Ukraine is essential for confirming the person receiving a pension or other social benefits, preventing fraud, and ensuring that the benefit reaches only those entitled to it. This procedure is also necessary to confirm a person’s life status, which is critical for making payments, especially for those who are abroad or in temporarily occupied territories.
