In the Kyiv region, a deputy will be brought to court for budget abuse
The Brovary District Prosecutor’s Office has completed the pre-trial investigation and submitted an indictment to the court against a deputy of the Velyky Dymer village council. According to the investigation, he appropriated over 827 thousand hryvnias by submitting false information in the documentation related to the major repair of streets.
The Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported this.
The essence of the case
It was established that during the repair work in the villages of Gogolov and Velyky Dymerka, an official managing the contracting company forged the records of work performed.
He overstated the volume of construction work performed, the cost of materials used, and the area of asphalt pavement. This led to losses for the local budget of over 827 thousand hryvnias.
Charges
Law enforcement officers charged the deputy with committing crimes under:
Part 2, 5 of Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – misappropriation or embezzlement of property through abuse of official position,
Part 1 of Art. Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – official forgery.
It is important to note: in accordance with Art. According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
In addition, it was noted that the law enforcement agencies of Kyiv discovered a channel for illegal legalization of foreign citizens. The young man systematically assisted citizens from Asian and Eastern countries in obtaining temporary residence permits, using forged documents and shell companies.
Investigators are actively working to identify other persons involved in this criminal activity.
