Pensioners given 10 days to apply to the PFU to preserve payments
Pensioners have been given ten days to contact the Pension Fund of Ukraine to avoid potential problems with pension accrual. This information was distributed in one of the local branches of the fund.
According to the Ukrainian legislation “On Mandatory State Pension Insurance” (Part 2, Article 16), pensioners are required to notify the Pension Fund of changes in their employment within ten days. This also applies to cases of termination or commencement of entrepreneurial activity.
One of the reasons for this requirement is the presence of special supplements and increases that are accrued only to pensioners who are not working. Untimely notification may lead to excessive payments that will have to be returned.
After dismissal from work, pensioners again receive the opportunity for additional allowances and pension recalculation, in particular, this is an annual increase in connection with a change in the subsistence minimum for unemployed persons.
How to properly notify the Pension Fund about a change in status:
Apply along with documents confirming the changes (order on acceptance or dismissal, workbook, or contract);
do it in person by visiting any Pension Fund service center;
Use electronic services, such as the Pension Fund web portal or the state portal “Diya”; an electronic signature is required.
