Fragrant vanilla donuts with cinnamon: a quick and tasty recipe
Vanilla Donuts with Cinnamon Sprinkles are a quick and delicious dessert that pairs perfectly with hot drinks like tea or coffee. The secret of their aroma is the use of vanilla paste.
The donuts have a nice, crispy crust, thanks to the sugar dusting and cinnamon flavor, and their soft centers stay fluffy for several days.
To prepare these treats, you will need the following ingredients:
For the donuts:
2 cups (250 g) flour + a little for sprinkling;
¼ cup (50 g) of sugar;
2 teaspoons of baking powder;
a pinch of salt;
75 g of chilled butter;
150 ml of milk;
1 teaspoon of vanilla paste;
oil for frying;
For sprinkling:
100 g of sugar;
2 teaspoons of cinnamon.
Preparation
Take a large bowl and mix 250g of flour, 50g of sugar, two teaspoons of baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Lightly mix all the dry ingredients.
Add 75 g of chilled butter and quickly rub it into the flour until it forms crumbs.
Pour in 150 ml of cold milk in parts, stirring the dough with a silicone spatula or spoon. When the dough comes together, transfer it to a floured surface and knead quickly, adding more flour as needed, until it no longer sticks to your hands. Form a ball from the dough.
Divide the dough into four parts and form a small cylinder from each. Then divide this shape into four walnut-sized pieces and quickly roll each into a ball. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Heat the oil to 170 °C, then add several donuts to the pan. Fry them for 3 minutes on each side until golden crust. After that, transfer the finished donuts to paper towels to drain.
To prepare the sprinkles, mix 100 g of powdered sugar and two teaspoons of cinnamon in a wide bowl until smooth.
While the donuts are still warm, roll them in the prepared sugar mixture. Serve them right away, because they keep soft for up to 2-3 days at room temperature.
These donuts are not only delicious but also make even the gloomiest autumn day feel cozier and warmer.
