Radio Dictation 2025: dates and locations of the all-Ukrainian unity dictation
The author of the radio dictation of national unity in 2025 is writer Yevgenia Kuznetsova. Actress Nataliya Sumska will read the text.

On the air, members of the board of Public Broadcasting and the head of the project “Radio dictation of national unity,” Dmytro Khorkin, and the project coordinator, Yulia Sheludko, reported that the text is still in development.
“The text is not ready yet. It will appear a few days before the event, with all corrections and clarifications,” Sheludko noted.
Yevgenia Kuznetsova is a Ukrainian writer, translator, and doctor of philosophy. She is the author of several books, including “Ask Miechka”, “We are cooking in sorrow”, as well as the study “Sword Language: How the Soviet Empire Spoke”. Her novel “The Ladder” was named BBC Book of the Year in 2023 and was shortlisted for the 2025 Angelus Central European Literary Prize.
In addition, Yevheniya translates from English, German, and Spanish, and holds a degree in international and cross-cultural studies. As a scholar, she explores the relationship between society and media.
Natalia Sumska, a People’s Artist of Ukraine, has received numerous awards and is known for her bright roles in theater and cinema. She has played in multiple productions of classical works, including “Aeneid”, “The Kaidash Family”, “Pygmalion”, and others. Her work has been awarded the “Kyiv Pectoral”, “Golden Spinning Top”, and the Shevchenko Prize.
When will the dictation take place?
The All-Ukrainian Radio Dictation of National Unity is scheduled for Monday, October 27, at 11:00, timed to coincide with the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language.
The dictation will be broadcast:
on the waves of Ukrainian Radio and Radio Kultura;
live on the Suspilne Kultura TV channel;
on the YouTube channel of Ukrainian Radio;
on the Facebook pages of Suspilne;
in the suspension, radio, and “Diya” applications.
Continuation of the tradition of radio dictation
This tradition continues every year, and this year marks the 25th edition. It was initiated in 2000 by employees of Ukrainian Radio.
The texts for dictation are always specially written and have an authorial character. They are not too complicated, but you can’t call them easy either.
After completing the writing, participants must send their work for verification — either by traditional mail or by e-mail. After verification, the organizers will announce the results and the names of those who wrote without errors.
In 2024, more than half a million people joined the campaign. About 10,000 works from more than 30 countries were submitted for verification.
The text for the dictation, “The Magic of the Voice,” was written by Oksana Zabuzhko and read by the poet and military man Pavlo Vyshebaba. Ukrainians from around the world took part in the event, including those from the diaspora in Germany, Croatia, and the United Arab Emirates.
