Night attacks on the Russian Federation: UAVs, chaos and blackout zones

On the night of November 1, several Russian cities were closed due to the possibility of drone attacks. Rosaviatsia indicated the need for such measures to ensure the safety of air transport. The reception and release of aircraft at the airports of Penza, Samara, and Saratov were temporarily suspended, and restrictions were also imposed in Kaluga and Tambov.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, 98 drones were shot down, of which 38 were eliminated in various regions on the evening of October 31. In particular, 35 of them were in the Belgorod region, and two more were in Voronezh and Crimea.

The attacks also disrupted power supplies to cities near Moscow, where residents reported power outages on October 31. Social networks were filled with messages about failures in power grids. Residents of the towns of Vladimir and Yaroslavl recalled the explosions that same night, which they accompanied with videos of the attacks. One of the explosions occurred in the village of Energetik, where an electrical substation was damaged.

In the Oryol region, drones attacked a thermal power plant; the governor, Andriy Klychkov, confirmed the attack.

In addition, Russian troops have increased their presence in Pokrovsk, blocking a key route to this city. According to DeepState, the enemy has already advanced into the central and northern regions, where the distance to Mirnograd has significantly decreased – now it is less than three kilometers.
