”The Illusionist” actor Jesse Eisenberg is ready to donate his kidney to a stranger

Jesse Eisenberg, the actor known for his roles in “The Illusion of Deception” and “The Social Network”, announced he plans to donate a kidney to a stranger. He spoke about this on NBC’s “Today” program.

“Actually, I plan to donate a kidney in six weeks – it’s absolutely true. I can’t explain exactly why I decided to do this. Like, I was struck by some ‘virus’ of the desire to help,” Eisenberg said with irony during the interview.

The actor noted that he has been donating blood for many years. At the same time, ten years ago, he applied to the organization requesting to become a kidney donor, but did not receive a response. Recently, after discussing his wish with a doctor, he was advised to go to the Langone Health Medical Center in New York, where he was officially allowed to undergo the donation procedure.

Eisenberg emphasized that he considers this procedure safe for himself. He also reassured that his family will not be left without support in the event of need, as there are other potential donors among relatives.

In 2025, the movie “Real Pain” will be released, starring Jesse in the lead role alongside Kieran Culkin. Both actors received Golden Globe and Oscar nominations, which Culkin eventually won.

On November 14, the film “Illusion of Deception 3” will premiere, in which Eisenberg will once again portray a robber-illusionist. Alongside him in the movie will be Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, and Dave Franco.
