Why children ignore homework: a controversy over teacher teaching methods

She noted that this situation is familiar with complex subjects such as mathematics, physics, or chemistry. “If a student does not understand algebra, geometry, or physics, it is quite understandable. These topics can be difficult, especially if they are not paying attention in class. In such cases, I would advise you to contact a tutor,” she explained.

According to her, the educational program does not allow a teacher to explain in detail the topics each student has missed. There is not enough time or funding for this, and no one wants to work for free. Therefore, according to the video’s author, tutoring is the only way to fill knowledge gaps.

“Other subjects, such as literature, languages, history, biology, or geography, also cause certain difficulties. Why don’t children do their homework in these subjects? They can’t read the text and answer the questions? If a fifth-grader is not able to understand what he has read, this is a big problem,” she emphasized, urging parents not to make excuses for their children’s laziness. She suspected them of improper child care.
