Ukrainians may have their working hours extended until exhaustion

During martial law, new rules on labor activity were introduced that meet current requirements.

The Central Interregional Department of the State Labor Service reports that at enterprises in the critical infrastructure sector, the working week may be extended to 60 hours, provided that wages are correspondingly increased. For employees in specific categories working on a reduced schedule, the maximum weekly working time will be 40 hours, with additional compensation. The employer determines the work shift schedule depending on the situation.

The changes also apply to rest. If previously continuous rest lasted at least 42 hours, its duration has been reduced to 24 hours. Restrictions on weekend work have been abolished, working hours have been reduced on the eve of holidays, and restrictions on overtime have been lifted.

As for wages, the employer can avoid liability for payment delays if he can prove that the delay occurred due to hostilities or significant circumstances. However, in general, untimely payment of wages remains a violation of labor rights, which can lead to administrative liability and fines.

Earlier, it was reported that Ukrainians can avoid paying for one of the utilities. The language issue in educational institutions was also discussed when a teacher called her parents “Nazis”. Information also came in that territorial recruitment and social support centers are seeking models and dancers.
