Ukraine launches initiative to defend Kherson from Russian drones

A new program to protect Kherson from Russian drone attacks is being launched in Ukraine, as announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to the president, the initiative was presented by the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert Brovdy, known under the pseudonym Magyar.

This program provides a set of measures to detect, intercept, and destroy enemy drones that pose a threat to the city. It is planned to gradually implement similar solutions in other regions that are subject to constant attacks.

“We are talking about a set of actions aimed at detecting, intercepting, and neutralizing enemy drones that may threaten the city,” Volodymyr Zelensky noted.

This is not the first attempt to implement a drone protection system for Kherson. In December last year, the previous leadership of the military administration announced the creation of a protective “dome”, but the project was not implemented then.

The new initiative should become a systemic response to the drone threat in frontline cities. Local authorities and the military hope that this time, the program’s implementation will be successful and that the residents of Kherson will receive absolute protection.

Attention is also drawn to the change in Volodymyr Zelensky’s information strategy, which has had a positive impact on Republican support, as evidenced by recent polls.
