The Ministry of Education and Science has updated the rules for interactive applications that apply to all electronic textbooks

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has adjusted the requirements for interactive electronic applications that accompany textbooks, according to a message on the department’s official website.

The changes are based on the practical experience of publishers and specialists of the Ukrainian Institute for the Development of Education, obtained during the creation and evaluation of electronic applications. Among the key innovations are clarifying requirements for multimedia materials, raising standards for interactivity and content adaptability, and enabling offline use.

Additionally, the rules for placing navigation elements and for using audio and video have been revised, as have recommendations for creating a convenient interface across different types of devices.

Special attention in the updated requirements is paid to the development of electronic applications for students with special educational needs. Such resources are created simultaneously with textbooks and must meet accessibility standards and take into account the recommendations of teachers working in specialized and inclusive educational institutions.

The main goal of these changes is to improve the quality of digital educational materials and ensure equal access to education for all students.
