Where in Ukraine are the biggest problems with power outages observed?

Since the beginning of autumn, Russia has significantly intensified attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, which has led to a critical situation in the country’s energy system. This has forced the introduction of hourly power outages.

On the air of a national telethon, Vitaliy Zaychenko, head of Ukrenergo, noted that the most challenging situation with energy supply is currently observed in border and frontline regions, in particular in the Odessa region.

He named Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhia regions among the most problematic areas. The situation is also tricky in the Odessa region.

“Speaking of all border regions, it is worth mentioning Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhia. Unfortunately, the Odesa region, although not a frontline region, also often suffers from massive drone attacks on substations of distribution system operators,” Zaychenko added.

These regions require special efforts to stabilize the energy supply. He noted that distribution system operators are doing everything possible to provide electricity to consumers.

Earlier, it was reported that Russia plans to produce up to 30 drones per target, while simultaneously producing tens of thousands of “Shaheeds” and aerial bombs for attacks on Ukraine.

In addition, Ukraine is preparing for a severe winter amid serious problems with electricity supply and the possibility of outages lasting more than 8 hours a day.

They also informed Ukrainians about new rules for receiving subsidies, which set strict deadlines; otherwise, the assistance will be lost.
