General Serhiy Mul disappeared from the declaration register: the person involved in the scandals is again on the verge of invisibility
Major General of the State Border Guard Service Serhiy Mul excluded his declarations from the open register of the National Border Guard Service. This information was disseminated by the 368—media editorial office, based on data from the departmental register.
In 2024, the Supreme Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office acquitted Mul, who at the time was the deputy director of the Department of Administration of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, finding him not guilty of submitting false information in his declaration.
The general gained widespread popularity in 2023 after a video recording of his confrontation with patrol officers was widely disseminated. In September 2022, during the curfew, the police stopped Mul’s car. When tested for alcohol, the general refused to take the test and threatened the inspector with the words:
“If you are principled, take the risk!”
After this incident, he was removed from the post of head of the Southern Regional Department of the State Security Service of Ukraine and transferred to Kyiv, where he was appointed deputy director of the department for the organization of work, planning, and control of the service administration.
Also in 2023, another scandalous message involving Mul was reported: his press officer went to Paris to celebrate the New Year during a full-scale war, after which she was fired.
Along with these events, the media reported on the ambiguous activities of financial structures associated with pro-Russian elements, which drew criticism. In addition, last year it was reported that Minister Galushchenko lived in the mansion of former official Zakharchenko, who was under arrest, and that the wife of Oleksiy Chernyshov tried to hide materials related to the construction of four estates.
