Новий знак шокує водіїв: на дорогах з’явиться білий ромб - готуйтеся до штрафів і змін у правилах

New sign shocks drivers: a white diamond will appear on the roads – get ready for fines and changes in the rules

Over the past week, drivers in Ukraine have received significant news: information appeared on social networks and some media outlets about the possible introduction of a new road sign – a white diamond on a blue background.

According to reports, this sign will mark lanes intended only for cars with two or more passengers, electric cars, taxis, and public transport. However, the situation turned out to be much more complicated, as reported by the Patriots of Ukraine.

Supporters of the new sign

The initiative to familiarize the public with the new sign belongs to Lviv MP Petro Adamyk, who plans to test this traffic format in his city next year.
Similar signs have long been used in many European countries, in particular in France, Germany, and Lithuania.
According to preliminary estimates, introducing such an image on roads can significantly reduce traffic jams, support environmental initiatives, and encourage carpooling and public transport use.
Supporters of the proposal believe this will help reduce the number of cars on the streets, improve air quality, and reduce driver stress.

But there is a difficulty: there is no official confirmation.

Representatives of the Ukrainian patrol police have denied information about the introduction of a new sign. They emphasized that the current Traffic Rules do not provide for a diamond sign on a blue background, and there are no plans to introduce it.

Thus, what is being spread on social networks as a new sign looks more like an urban myth or a unique legend that has gained popularity.

Reasons for discussing the idea

The desire to introduce European practices, as similar carpool and taxi lanes have been successfully implemented in many European cities.
Populist media promises a reduction in traffic jams and an “ecological revolution” in transport.
However, without legislative changes and new traffic rules, none of the new signs will have legal force.
Auto expert Serhiy Melnyk notes that even if this idea is supported in other cities, its success depends on drivers following the rules. Without proper control, the sign risks remaining just a decoration on a pole.

What next: hope or doubt?

Today, optimism is growing because official changes may be initiated in Lviv. If this happens, the key sign may appear on the streets. However, without official approval, any forecasts remain questionable.

Let us recall that new restrictions for alimony debtors are planned to be introduced in six months. Earlier, it was also reported that new strict criteria for the driving license exam may cause drivers to fail.
