Reserve ID to replace paper documents: changes in military records in Ukraine

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is simplifying the military accounting procedure by converting all documents into electronic format. The Reserve ID will be the primary digital ID card for conscripts and conscripts.

The Government of Ukraine has adopted new rules requiring military registration documents to be issued exclusively in electronic form. Prime Minister Yulia Svyridenko and representatives of the Ministry of Defense confirmed this information.

The electronic document can be obtained through the Reserve+ mobile application. It will be available digitally as well as a PDF for download.

For citizens without constant access to the electronic version, the document can be printed. You can do this yourself by downloading the file from Reserve+ or the Diya portal. Also, this option will be available in territorial centers of recruitment and social support, where specialists will create and print an electronic version.

Oksana Ferchuk, Deputy Minister of Defense for Digital Development, noted:

“The transition to an electronic format reduces the risks of document loss, damage, or forgery.”

Yulia Svyridenko confirmed the introduction of new rules, noting that the government updated resolutions #1487 and #559 to implement the changes.

The Cabinet of Ministers emphasized that the transition to a digital format is part of modernizing the military accounting system, thereby ensuring greater transparency and efficiency in the defense sphere.

The changes entered into force after amendments to the specified government regulations were adopted, which set out the procedures for maintaining military records and document processing.

In the Rezerv+ mobile application, you can also view photos of conscripts linked to their electronic documents. To access the image, you need to install the latest version of the application and Reserve ID.
