A Carpathian man with forged documents was detained in Bukovina: the forgery was discovered during a special inspection

Yesterday evening, border guards in Bukovina stopped an attempt to leave the country illegally. A 39-year-old resident of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, who intended to leave Ukraine with his mother, presented documents intended to prove the necessity of their trip. However, during the inspection, it turned out that these documents were forged.

The man claimed that his mother needed constant care and provided the border guards with a package of medical papers. However, during the conversation, he looked nervous and confused in his explanations, which aroused suspicion among border guards. An in-depth check was carried out to clarify the circumstances.

Thanks to special technical equipment, experts found clear signs of forgery in the documents provided. After that, the offender, together with his mother, was sent to the National Police to resolve further legal issues.

Border guards officially reported the detection of signs of a criminal offense under Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which concerns forgery and use of false documents.

It was also noted that recently, border guards prevented an attempt to illegally leave for Moldova by detaining a group of Ukrainians and their guide. Administrative protocols were drawn up against four detainees, and criminal proceedings were opened against the driver-guide for violating Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – facilitation of illegal border crossing.
