Олександр Мусієнко: українські війська вжили ряд превентивних заходів у відповідь на загрозу наступу рф на Суми

The expert assessed the possibility of Ukraine receiving frozen assets from the Russian Federation: “The issue has moved somewhat from a dead point”

German Chancellor Merz canceled his trip to Norway. He went to Brussels to discuss with the Belgian Prime Minister the issue of allocating interest from Russian-seized assets to Ukraine’s needs.

Expert Oleksandr Musienko said that this issue is of great importance. He also noted that the United Kingdom is joining the initiative and that Norway is actively discussing providing financing to Ukraine. “This would be a significant support for us,” he emphasized, noting that a meeting of EU heads of state will soon be held to consider issues of assistance to Ukraine.

The European Union has already allocated 90 billion euros to Ukraine by 2026, but according to Musienko, more resources are needed for the war, as it requires modern weapons and innovations. “We are waiting for the decision of our partners,” he added.

Ursula von der Leyen is actively calling on EU countries to provide assistance to Ukraine from Russian seized assets. It even proposes making decisions not by consensus, but by a simple majority vote, which could significantly speed up the process. Musienko noted that this is an important step and expressed hope for the US reaction to this initiative.
