Russian Crimean authorities freeze Usyk’s assets over alleged ‘Nazi views’

The occupation authorities of Crimea have announced a new wave of “nationalization” of the property of Ukrainian citizens and enterprises. This list includes the assets of 84 more individuals and legal entities that the Russian authorities suspect of cooperating with Ukraine and supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Among these individuals is Oleksandr Usyk, a native of Simferopol and the world boxing champion in the super heavyweight division, according to the WBA, WBC, and IBF.

This was reported on December 16 by the head of the occupation administration of the “Crimean parliament,” Volodymyr Konstantinov, on Telegram. He accused Usyk of allegedly supporting “Nazi ideology” and organizing fundraising for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The list includes, in particular:

Ihor Franchuk – Ukrainian businessman, former people’s deputy, vice president of the “Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs”, and advisor to the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine. In Crimea, he owned the companies “Lilaste” and “Crimean School “Tescao”.

“Tavrida-Plaza” LLC is a company of the Ukrainian group “TMM”, specializing in the production of drones and aircraft.

“Shakhta named after A.F. Zasyadka” – the shareholder is the State Property Fund of Ukraine. This property belongs to Ukrainian military personnel and volunteers, including Mykhailo and Kostyantyn Novoseltsev, Yegor Tkachenko (“Kholodny Yar”), and Yevhen Babych (Colonel of the Air Force of Ukraine).

Volodymyr Prysiazhnyuk is a public figure who actively supports the Open Dialogue Foundation in Poland and raises funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It was previously reported that 6.9 billion rubles received from the “nationalization” of Ukrainian assets were directed to the implementation of various projects on the peninsula. In the first six months of 2025, 25 objects were sold for an amount of over 2.2 billion rubles (approximately 660 thousand UAH).

According to the organization “CrimeaSOS”, since 2014, the occupiers have “nationalized” about 3.5 thousand objects, of which 1.2 thousand in 2024. The sale of confiscated property brought the occupation authorities 4.4 billion rubles (about 1.2 billion UAH), according to Denis Chistykov, the deputy permanent representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

The Russian occupiers are using the “nationalization” system as a tool to pressure “disloyal” residents of Crimea. Lawyers recommend that Ukrainians document all actions by the occupiers in the event of encroachments on their property and contact Ukrainian representatives for legal assistance.
