Not all mobilized people end up at the front: the Verkhovna Rada noted how many recruits actually serve

Approximately 30,000 men are mobilized in Ukraine each month, but many of them do not reach combat units. This information was announced by People’s Deputy Roman Kostenko, emphasizing that almost half of the recruits do not end up in military units.

The reasons for this phenomenon include the selection and physical condition of conscripts, as well as the need to discharge those who cannot serve. Kostenko noted that the Verkhovna Rada and the General Staff are actively monitoring the mobilization process. He said that together with the Military Committee, parliamentarians monitor the issue of the sufficiency of personnel and the training of conscripts.

He also emphasized that the figure of 30,000 is approximate and rounded. In some cases, territorial recruitment centers may call up people with various physical conditions, even those unable to serve. This leads to additional costs for the state to check and replace such recruits. There is constant turnover among mobilized people, which adds to the system’s burden.

Despite all the difficulties, the situation remains under control and does not affect Ukraine’s overall combat readiness, the deputy noted. He recalled that since the beginning of 2022, the enemy has captured less than 1% of the country’s territory.

Experts note that such problems are typical in conditions of active war, when significant numbers of personnel are recruited each month. Some recruits do not meet the established criteria due to various medical, psychological, or physical conditions. The process of checking and replacing these individuals helps maintain the combat readiness of military units.
