The fourth gas payment: which Ukrainians will receive it?

Some Ukrainians may receive unexpected changes in gas bills. In addition to the usual three amounts, some consumers will receive a new receipt related not to networks, but to the maintenance of their own equipment.

Typically, most households receive three bills each month: the first for the gas actually consumed, the second for the delivery of gas to the house, and the third for the maintenance of internal gas systems. These networks require regular inspections and repairs to ensure stable operation.

However, there is a category of consumers who can expect additional costs. We are talking about owners of gas stoves and boilers. For them, the so-called “fourth payment” is being introduced for the maintenance of the equipment used directly. Experts emphasize that the responsibility for the serviceability of the boiler or stove lies with the consumer, as these devices can pose a danger in the event of a malfunction.

The Gazmerezhi company noted that maintenance is not an automatic process. Consumers must order this service themselves by contacting customer service centers. Experts recommend conducting a technical inspection at least once a year to avoid dangerous situations and safety problems at home.

As for the cost of service, a comprehensive service for a gas boiler and stove will cost about 1,500 hryvnias. If you order service only for a gas stove, then the cost will be approximately 360 hryvnias.

Earlier, it was reported that gas tariffs would increase, and Ukrainians should be prepared for new changes. There was also talk of possible fines for gas boiler owners, as well as different tariffs for consumers who cannot pay the standard gas price.
